Now, a similar technology - known as facial detection - is entering a new field: the business of advertising. Facial recognition technology is meant to identify a specific individual. Facial detection systems aim to detect the presence of a person and try to predict some facts about them. In the United States, such systems are currently being tested in a small number of stores.

Suggestions for use in the classroom:
- Allow students to self-correct. Give think time.
- Ss. learn to make a mistake on purpose. (In order to do this they have to know the grammar rule or the sound [pronunciation]). Other student listeners decide if it’s correct or not.
- Create a community environment where mistakes are natural & necessary
- Regarding emotional intelligence - you want to figure out ss emotional psyche so that your error input can be as helpful as possible.

The following pictures are from BLC. This is from my M/D class . During the health theme students chose a health topic and researched the topic as a group. Topics included breast cancer, colon cancer, vaping, AIDS, high blood pressure etc. Some students created PowerPoint presentations while others created boards with illustrations. Everyone did an excellent job I’m so proud of them.
Please send me pictures, and be sure to include the branch name and level. I need them by the end of the business day on Wednesday. If I already have enough submissions for the week- that just means your pictures will be published the next week. Personally, I think the pictures that you share are the best part of the blog.

NYS TESOL 49th Annual Conference
Strategies for Success: Supporting English/Multi-Language Learners in All Learning Environments
November 14th-16th, 2019 - Crowne Plaza, White Plains, NY
NYS TESOL is currently inviting proposal submissions related to the conference theme within the following nine categories:
- Adult Education
- Applied Linguistics
- Bilingual Education
- Elementary Education
- Higher Education
- Secondary Education
- Special Education
- Teacher Education
- Teaching English Internationally
There will be five different types of sessions at the 2019 conference:
1) 70 minute workshop
2) 70 minute panel
3) 35 minute paper presentation
4) 20 minute teaching tip

3) 35 minute paper presentation
4) 20 minute teaching tip
5) Poster presentation
You may submit up to three proposals as the lead or co-presenter.
