New sets for the “GRAB IT”  Song Activity       It's Raining Men    Stormy Weather Directions: Use only as a warm-up activity, or do some or all of the suggestions below: Preparation: Choose a level. Print out a set of nine words for groups of 2-6 students. Cut out each set, secure with a paperclip. In class:         1.    Pre-teach vocabulary.         2.    Give each group one set of words. Students arrange the expressions so that all can reach them easily. Play the song. Students grab the words/expressions when they hear them – before their peers do!  - No hovering of hands over words :) MODEL.         3.    Students vote if they want to play again.         4.    Writing activity. With a partner, or in small groups, students write a short story or   paragraph using as many words from the activity as possible.        GENRE: Before writing, review genres and let students decide what type of story they want to write (Comedy, Romance, Horrow, Sci-fi, other)         5.    Share stories with the class (read stories or gallery walk)    6. Give students the link, students can listen to the songs at home, sing along.         7.
