Here are some pictures from the Health Unit. The students made posters and then gave mini-presentations about how to reduce stress. The first two pictures are from the Hudson Park 5/6 class. The last two are from Tompkins Square 5/6.
In the third picture Yigit explains to the class that “chilling with your homies” means spending time with friends!

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The American Language Program (ALP) Winter Conference is a professional development event for practicing language educators, researchers, and graduate and doctoral students aimed at enriching their pedagogical practice in teaching. Although primarily focused on English as a Second Language (ESL/TESOL/ELT) education in academic settings, educators teaching other languages or in other educational contexts may find the presentations relevant and applicable to their teaching. The title for the 2020 conference is Curricula & Materials: Lessons, Units, Courses; previous years’ conferences have focused on learning (2019), vocabulary (2018), pronunciation (2017), critical thinking in language teaching and learning (2016), and writing (2015).
