Week 2: Health

How was your first week? We hope things went well for you and your students. The curriculum topic is Health for weeks 2-4. Each week we'll post some resources for you.

KAHOOT!
The fun program Steve Mahoney showed us at our teacher meeting on January 29 was called Kahoot, and you can click here: getkahoot.com. Students can login in here kahoot.it To create your own games, you'll need to create a profile (click on the top right corner of the site).  It's fairly quick and easy to do.

TEACHER ADVICE

No matter how hard you try, the class just doesn't seem to make progress. What advice would you give this teacher who seems to be doing all the right things, but her students just aren't improving? Addressing My Frustrations




EXIT TICKET IDEA:

Some of us use exit tickets as a way to wrap up class and check for understanding. If for example, I worked on past tense with my class that day, before the students leave I ask them each to answer a question like "What did you do yesterday?" If they answer correctly, they can leave, if incorrect, they have to go to the end of the line and try again.

Here is another form of the exit ticket idea:
Before students leave, give them this slip and a little time to reflect: 3-2-1 Exit Ticket
