Geniene and Stacy started us off in Staten Island today.
Geniene did a great communicative activity: students shared TIPS for STUDYING ENGLISH.
What activities did you do today (or this week) that went well?
On Day 2, I invited the students to read a Patient/Nurse skit. The “patient” was suffering from various ailments, including a sore throat and backache, and was speaking to the nurse to make an appointment with the doctor.
ReplyDeleteI modeled the skit with a volunteer twice before having the students work with a peer to engage in the discussion.
I think the reading of the skit went well because we had practiced the health terms/illnesses for a significant amount of time. In addition, I think that having a student read the skit first made the task seem attainable.
