INNOVATION PROJECT
Do you have a great idea for the Library this year? The second round of submissions for the Innovation Project awards is officially open, so now is your chance to win a grant for your innovative idea.
The Innovation Project is here to support staff's ideas and creativity, across branch, research, and central department staff. And if you're looking for inspiration, we have some advice and past ideas on the project site. We have $100,000 to commit to projects of different sizes for FY16, and submissions end on December 9—so start thinking today.
After we hear your ideas, they'll be put up for an all-staff vote on December 21, and the winning ideas will be chosen on January 15. Let's innovate!
E-ALERTS
NYPL is launching a new e-alert system for staff, effective immediately. The e-alert system will allow us to send messages to your mobile, home, or work phone about extreme weather, power outages, security issues, threats, or other emergency situations. Learn more on LAIR here: Alerts
STAFF-WIDE READ 2015
Need a good book to take a break from all that turkey this Thanksgiving? If you did not find a copy in your inbox, be sure to pack your copy of Let the Great World Spin for your holiday! Last week, 16 groups met across the system to discuss Book One, but there's still plenty of time to catch up. We will meet again the week of December 7 to discuss the whole book - and save the date for a special event with the author Colum McCann on December 11!
